What is lost wax casting process?
Lost-wax casting process, method of metal casting in which a molten metal is poured into a mold that has been created by means of a wax model. Once the tool is made, the wax model is melted and drained away.

Water glass and silica sol investment casting are the two primary lost wax precision casting methods nowadays. The main differences are the surface roughness, casting dimensional accuracy, inner casting defects, casting cost. Water glass casting method dewaxes into the high temperature water, and the ceramic mold is made of water glass quartz sand. Silica sol casting process uses silica sol zircon sand as the molding material, which can stand temperature up to 2000 degree. But this molding material are too expensive. So cost of solica sol casting is almost twice than the cost of water glass casting.
